Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Algoma EMS, one of four services operated by the Algoma District Services Administration Board (ADSAB), is responsible for the prehospital care and transportation of the sick and injured within the District of Algoma - including Elliot Lake.

Algoma EMS responds to over 6,000 calls each year. Their service is dispatched by the Sault Ste. Marie Central Ambulance Communication Centre (CACC) and their coverage area is approximately 59,000 sq. kms in size.

Algoma EMS operates sixteen frontline and two spare ambulances.  Each sector has a First Response Unit which also doubles as an administrative vehicle.

The ADSAB service operates an ambulance base within the City of Elliot Lake.
